As a yoga and meditation teacher, Gretchen also supports organizations around the world such as PhDivaDiver Coral Restoration Foundation, Care.org and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. She spent one year as VISTA Volunteer in Southwest Colorado, and 3 weeks volunteering in Ayacucho, Peru with Cross Cultural Solutions.

Gretchen’s Experience

Gretchen Harnick is a Learning & Training Professional, Professor, and multi-disciplinary expert in industries such as retail, fashion, beauty, healthcare, wellness, and higher education. Her focus on building communities began early in her career as a VISTA Volunteer on the Ute Mountain reservation in SW Colorado. She worked in corporate marketing for 10 years before entering the fashion industry, opening a Showroom in Chicago and a retail boutique in Cleveland. Gretchen transitioned into academia as Department Director of the Fashion & Retail Management program at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 2005. In 2009 she was recruited by Parsons, School of Fashion in NYC where she worked for 10 years as Assistant Professor of Fashion Marketing. 

While at Parsons Gretchen coordinated external partnerships, managed curriculum in the online program, and launched the social media platforms for the school. Gretchen consults with organizations around the world, serves on the Board of multiple organizations, and hold an MBA in Marketing, a BA in Psychology and French, and a 200-hour yoga teacher certification.
